How to Play a Paintball Game
![]() |
Paintball is a popular sport that is played in teams on paintball fields. Equipment needed to participate in this sport include paintballs, a marker or paintgun for firing them, and safety gear such as face and body protection. If proper precautions are taken and safety rules are followed, paintball is very safe and lots of fun. There are many different ways to play a paintball game. Here are some of the most popular variations:
Capture the Flag: This is a classic children's game, and also a classic way of playing paintball. Participants are divided into teams and each team is given a flag on their territory. The object of the game is to capture the other team's flag and return it to your home base. Players hit with paintballs are of course, eliminated. The winning team is the one that captures the flag. If neither team captures the flag by the end of the game, it is declared a draw.
Speed Ball: This game is also commonly known as center flag. This game is similar to Capture the Flag with a minor difference. There's only one flag, and it is in the center of the playing field. Also, there is a limited amount of time for the game, usually either ten or fifteen minutes.
Rabbit Hunting: This game pits a group of players against one player, who is designated the rabbit. The goal, of course, is to shoot the rabbit. Give the player serving as the rabbit a head start and of course, a paintball gun! If a hunter shoots the rabbit, he or she wins. If no hunters shoot the rabbit within the time limit, the rabbit wins. If hunters are shot by the rabbit, they are eliminated.
Blackjack: Blackjack gets its name because only 21 paintballs are allotted to each player. This game is played just like Capture the Flag. However, when a player runs out of paintballs, they are eliminated from the game.
Quick Draw: Quick Draw is basically your old fashioned duel. This game takes two players, positioned a distance away from each other. On the signal, the players shoot, and the first one to score a hit is the winner.
There are many other types of paintball game setups you can try. For ideas, read through some paintball magazines or talk to the experts at a paintball field in your area.
