The Basics of Paintball Scenarios

If you've ever played paintball or have considered playing, you might be curious about all the different types of games. Classic paintball involves pitting two teams against each other in a game that is similar to Capture the Flag. Classic paintball is often referred to as rec-ball, which simply means recreational play. However, some paintballers enjoy more in-depth play, which is where paintball scenarios come in.

Scenario paintball is very different from classic paintball. The first difference is the duration of the game. While classic paintball can last anywhere from five minutes to a few hours, a scenario game lasts much longer than that. You'll find scenario games lasting as long as an entire weekend! The number of players is another difference between classic and scenario games. For scenario games, there can be hundreds of players on various teams. When you and/or your team sign up for a scenario, you will be placed on a particular side. Then, you'll be given a specific role to play. Most of the time, scenarios are military themed and the roles will certainly reflect this.

Role-playing is very important to a scenario game. Examples of roles might include a spy, doctor, general, medic or transporter. Not every player has to have a role. It is, however, crucial for players to work together as a team. Because scenario games are so lengthly and in-depth, they often offer lots of fun features and extras not found in classic games. This may include various setups, buildings and types of terrain. Another really enjoyable thing about this type of paintball is the variety of players. Some will be brand new to the sport, others will be seasoned pros. These games are a great way for newbies to learn from more advanced players, improve their skill level, and even make new friends!

Paintball scenarios are special events usually hosted by paintball fields. To find scenario games, check with the fields in your area. They can tell you about the upcoming events and give you more information such as duration, cost, and any other applicable details. You'll find that playing in a scenario costs quite a bit more than playing classic paintball, but anyone who's done it knows you also get more bang for your buck!
